Wimberley, TX--Designated as one of America's Ten Best Small Towns"
By Travel Holiday Magazine
Wimberley is the sort of picturesque village you delight in visiting, each time thinking I could live here—I’d love to live here! Based atop the Edwards Plateau with its unique vistas, valleys, splendid outcrops and grand hills, Wimberley sits alongside beautiful, green Cypress Creek, edged by namesake trees so tall, you can stand inside them and imagine times past along this clear, cool wonder.
Today Wimberley's historic town life is sparkling with charm and vitality. There are galleries, clever shops and studios on the main square that are filled with local artisans who make everything from pottery to paintings, clothing, furniture and more. Artists, ranchers and tourists add color and texture to what is one of the Hill Country’s most popular resort towns.
Wimberley is nestled in the heart of the Hill Country and the central flyway for many migrating birds like the Eastern bluebird and painted buntings. A huge variety of natural fauna and spectacular flora abound, making every season here one to enjoy. For adventurous types, there are river sports, hiking, climbing, biking and caving. Quicksand Golf Course at Woodcreek, a community adjacent to RiverRock, is only 5 minutes away.
